Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
This program is provided for all Board employees and their immediate family members. It is confidential, providing counselling by social workers with Master of Social Work degrees. Assessment, referral and treatment are provided for a range of issues: i.e. stress, depression, addictions, family matters, marital counselling, grief counseling. EAP can help with personal problems that affect your family life, your work life or your general well-being.

Bursary Programs
For OECTA members, the Joan Kamps Memorial bursaries for post-graduate studies or professional development activities (up-grading courses) are available through OECTA Provincial Office. See page 28 of the Handbook or check the website www.oecta.on.ca. Application deadline is May 15, 2006.
OTIP, our LTD carrier, offers 12 bursaries yearly for children of members. They must be entering the first year of full-time post-secondary education at a Canadian university or Ontario college of applied arts and technology. Go to www.otip.com and click on Bursary for details. Application deadline is June 15, 2006.
PD Fund Applications
Friday, December 9, 2005 is the PD fund application deadline for conferences or workshops taking place between December 14, 2005 and January 31, 2006. The Executive meets December 13th to consider the applications.

$512 Teacher Professional Development Fund claims received at the
Board Office by December 15th will be reimbursed before Christmas.
