H1N1 Update
Provincial OECTA is asking Staff Reps to once again participate in an on-line survey regarding school response to H1N1. The survey can be found at: surveymonkey.com/s.aspx?sm=jZfzNFRSAq10xq53bGEPUA_3d_3d
November 20th P.A. Day
For elementary teachers, tomorrow’s Professional Activity day is a day designated for completing report cards. This day is one of the negotiated articles under the Provincial Discussion Table (PDT) agreement. The day is to be entirely teacher directed. Expecting a large number of teachers to be accessing the report card software at the same time tomorrow, the IT Department has created a new link from the opening page in Serv2. This link appears between the “Check email from home” and “Check email from office” icons. It is important that teachers log off the computer when they are finished working on report cards tomorrow. This link should be used tomorrow, and will be removed by Saturday. (The memo from the IT department with specific details is attached for your information.)
At the secondary level, tomorrow’s P.A. day is principal-directed.
OECTA Benefit Committee
Yesterday our OECTA Benefit Committee met with a representative of O.T.I.P. (Ontario Teacher Insurance Plan.) O.T.I.P. has generously helped us in costing the benefit enhancements which we are contemplating for September 2010. We look forward to now meeting with the Board to discuss enhancements. Further information to the membership will follow this meeting.
