Collective Bargaining
OECTA’s provincial discussions on a collective bargaining framework have concluded with an agreement that was endorsed at an emergency Council of Presidents’ meeting on May 2nd.  The details of this agreement are confidential at this time.  The Eastern Unit Collective Bargaining Table Team will be meeting for the first time with the Board on Thursday, June 12th. Bargaining is expected to continue into the fall.  Once an  agreement is reached it will require ratification at the local level.

P.D. Applications for July and August
Teachers are eligible to apply to the Unit for P.D. funds to attend conferences and workshops over the summer.  Those applications are due by June 6th.

O.E.C.T.A. Summer Leadership Institute
OECTA’s Professional Development department is holding a Summer Leadership Institute for PD chairpersons and teacher leaders interested in the area of helping sustain our members’ professional growth.  It will be held in Ottawa on July 7-8.  For further details and registration information go to the provincial website:  www.oecta.on.ca.

Good Samaritan Trust Fund Golf Tournament
A GSTF golf tournament will be held on Monday, July 7th, at the Prescott Golf Club.  Shotgun start is at 1:00 p.m., and ends in the evening with a social hour, silent auction, dinner and awards.  Monies raised are disbursed to families in need in our school communities.  Register as a single, or team of two, three or four, and support a worthy cause!
