CUPE (Ontario)
CUPE Ontario has targeted 12:01 a.m. Thursday (tomorrow) morning to begin the strike to protest Bill 206 which deals with alterations to the OMERS pension plan.
OECTA members are working under contract and must report to work in the event of job action by CUPE.
A FAXAGENDA, dated February 10, 2006, was sent to all schools, outlining the protocol teachers are to follow should local CUPE members take strike action. Please review this information. If another copy of the FAXAGENDA is required, phone the Unit Office and one will be sent to your school.

LHINs (Local Health Integration Networks)
The provincial Liberal government has proposed legislation to initiate further health restructuring - Bill 36. The Ontario Health Coalition has expressed concerns regarding the content of the bill, and the rejection of amendments that would increase accountability of the LHINs and the Ministry to the public concerning 1) sharing of information; 2) community input on regional needs; 3) accessibility and protecting existing services; 4) transferring service to ‘for-profit” organizations; among other issues.
Become informed! Townhall meetings are being held across Ontario.
Local meetings: Cornwall, Royal Canadian Legion, 415 Second St. W.; 7 p.m. tonight.
Winchester, Lions Hall, 515 Albert St., 7 p.m.; Tuesday, February 28
