Teachers as Leaders Symposium – March 27 and 28, 2007
This, the first series in a set of professional development symposia, will take place in Toronto on Tuesday, March 27 and Wednesday, March 28. It is being held to help establish a base of OECTA members who can be called upon to assist in setting priorities on how OECTA uses the Ministry PD funds to the best benefit for members. Eastern Unit can send eight delegates, based on an FTE membership of 1,014 members. To see the agenda and information on the workshops and keynote speakers, go to oecta.on.ca on the home page.
To apply to attend the symposium, please forward your name to the Unit Office with a brief outline stating your background in PD (i.e. lifelong learning pursued; leadership; etc.) and your reason for interest in participating in establishing PD priorities at the provincial level. Permanent and occasional members are invited to participate.

REMINDERS:
AGM 2007 March 10-12, 2007
The Unit delegation, seventeen strong, has been approved by the Unit Executive. Your representatives attend AGM in Toronto from Saturday, March10 to Monday, March 12, 2007. In order to fully represent your interests at AGM, we ask all members to attend the Unit General Meeting on Tuesday, March 6 at 4:30 p.m., St. Michael CHS, Kemptville. To prepare for this meeting, please read the AGM 2007 Resolutions and Nominations newspaper which contains the resolutions to be debated and the nomination information for candidates running for Provincial Executive. These newspapers will be sent to schools by Provincial Office.
OECTA Data Membership Forms
These packages were given to staff reps at the fall in-service. If they have not been updated and returned to the Unit Office, please do so. This will allow us to update the Unit database and the forms will be sent on to Provincial Office to ensure their member information is accurate for mailings and to request OECTA cards or stickers if required.
