Responding to Violent Incidents

There have been a number of instances where teachers have reported student aggression – either verbal or physical. It is important for all teachers to know their rights and responsibilities in such situations.

Attached to this Eastern Update is the Violent Incident Protocol – we ask staff reps to ensure all staff members are aware of this protocol. It is important for members to document any case of violence or aggression – complete the incident report form, give it to you principal and send a copy to the Unit Office.

Staff Rep In-service

On Thursday February 7th, 2008 there will be an in-service for staff representatives which will be held at the Kemptville Municipal Centre –
lunch will be served at 12 noon and our session will begin at 1 pm with Grace de Silva – OECTA Secretariat Member as our guest speaker.
