Eastern Unit has an Individual PD Fund for teachers who wish to take advantage of professional development opportunities. Teachers are eligible to receive up to $200 per year to attend conferences or workshops. As well, the PD fund can be used to offset the cost of a College, University or AQ (Additional Qualification) course. Please refer to the policies for more information.

The Executive grants individual PD funds at their monthly Executive meeting. Contact the Unit Office if you need any additional information about our Unit PD Fund.

Professional Development

Eastern Unit is a strong supporter of teacher professional development. Through Provincial Office, OECTA offers a wide variety of PD activities and programs for our members. Our unit has sponsored workshops in literacy, discipline, special education, math programs, and other pertinent workshops to meet the needs of members.

Teachers can choose from the following list of Provincial workshop/course offerings. Contact the Unit Office and workshops can be arranged for a school, group of schools or region of our Unit.
