Objectives of OECTA

1. to promote the principles of Catholic education;
2. to develop a greater understanding among parents, teachers and students;
3. to work for the moral, intellectual, religious and professional perfection of its members;
4. to improve the status of the teaching profession in Ontario;
5. to secure for teachers a leading role in education;
6. to co-operate with other teacher organizations in improving the standards of education;
7. to promote the completion of the Catholic school system;
8. to represent members in all matters related to collective bargaining.
