OECTA Provincial Councillor

Congratulations goes out to our unit treasurer Andrew Donihee, who will be serving Catholic teachers at the OECTA Provincial Executive table. Andrew has been active both at the local level as a regional representative, as well as our unit Treasurer. He has been active at the provincial level as a committee representative on both Beginning Teachers Committee and Catholic Education, as well as being Chair of the Beginning Teachers Committee. We wish Andrew all the best in his new role and know that he will serve all members well.

OECTA Retirement Workshop

We will be offering a full day Retirement Workshop on April 24 th. The location will be determined by where the majority of the registrants are from. Please telephone the unit office by April 7th to sign up. More information.

Healthy Teachers, Healthy Schools

Over the next few weeks, Barb and Dale will be attending schools to provide teachers with information regarding the Benefit Enhancement Negotiations and the positions of both the School Board and OECTA. It is very important for all members to attend these meeting in order to get a clear understanding of OECTA’s position with regards to this very important issue. We look forward to seeing all teachers and answering any questions members may have.

Unit P.D. Fund
Each member of the Eastern Unit can apply for a grant of up to $200 for professional development for conferences or workshops.
